Meet our team
Chris Ridley
Managing Director
Chris embarked on his journey as a carpenter, and has always had an entrepreneurial flare, matched with determination. He started and successfully ran a building and refurbishment company, Midland Refurb Ltd, for 10 years before forming Whiteacre Homes in 2004.
The wealth of experience gained via the intricate details and execution for corporate organisations, in luxury hotel fit outs, equipped Chris with the confidence and knowledge to deliver high end luxury homes. Chris’s passion is derived from him being a perfectionist, the houses must feel like a home that the purchasers are proud to return to each day.
Chris’s role is multifaceted, he draws on his wealth of experience, to educate land owners on what opportunities may be held on their land, invests time, cost and skill in the planning stages to create sympathetic designs that are not over developed, but individual and mutually beneficial.
Favourite Project?
“I have thought back over the years to each of the projects, purchasers, ups and downs and all have involved personal investment of time, effort, and emotion. I couldn’t choose just one”
Interest & Hobbies
Chris enjoys (depending on the workout) weekly gym sessions to keep his mind focused. Chris loves to travel, particularly driving across Europe exploring unfamiliar places which satisfies his adventurous spirit.
I get a great feeling of pride and achievement when the vision becomes reality, and all of the effort and hard work becomes worthwhile.
Mike Ridley
Whiteacre Homes Site Manager
Mike joined Whiteacre in 2011, celebrating his ten-year work anniversary in 2021, with more milestones to come. For Mike, working for Whiteacre Homes gives him an immense sense of satisfaction and achievement. He manages the projects from initial planning and acquisition stage through to construction and completion.
Whilst the winter months are tough in the trade, the summer months make up for it. Mikes favourite time, understandably so, is spring and summer a true feel-good factor with the camaraderie on site – and topping up his tan!
Favourite Project?
“Tayberry & Mulberry House at Knowle Wood Road, Dorridge was challenging and rewarding in equal measure, it was the first build we erected that was over three floors which brought technical challenges. A high specification was expected for the Golden Triangle, which I was proud to deliver and the result was aspirational”
Interest & Hobbies
Mike has a soft spot for animals, in particular, his two pups Reggie & Magic which keep him busy.
He enjoys watching football and has always had a passion for high performance cars.
Each development brings new challenges and teaches us new techniques to take onto the next
Tom Freestone
Whiteacre Homes Site Foreman
Tom has worked for the company since 2016. His role is diverse which includes day to day management, dealing with contractors, ordering, collection of materials, logistics on site, site health safety and security.
Tom says variety is the best aspect of his role and the mental stimulation it delivers with its ever-changing location, projects and design means there’s always something new to learn.
Tom as a very sociable person, he ensures to introduce himself to neighbours on the first day of each new project to set expectations and minimise any disruption. He is key to managing change in the local community.
Favourite Project?
“My favourite project is Woodside View in Chadwick End, I loved its rural location granting large gardens overlooking open fields and the sympathetic build design to complement its green setting”
Interest & Hobbies
Tom’s interests outside work are anything sport based but particularly football and rugby all enjoyed with a nice glass of red wine.
It is very rewarding at the final stages of a project when putting the planting and landscaping in, to hear all the compliments and positivity from neighbours and passers-by people taking a real interest in our work
Karen Ridley
Whiteacre Homes Company Secretary
Karen has been an integral part of the business since it was established. Her role is identifying land opportunities, assisting with planning and design, interior design choices and matching designs to buyers’ preferences.
Whiteacre Homes to Karen, is a company that has made a positive contribution to the local community. As a local resident who has worked past and present in this area with extended family and friends all local, she feels a deep sense of pride for all the successful projects achieved in this area.
Favourite Project?
“The Ardens on Tilehouse Green Lane, Knowle, I loved seeing the plot transformed into two attractive houses that fitted perfectly in the street scene filling and enhancing the corner plot particularly”
Interest & Hobbies
Karen’s interests outside work are yoga, pilates, growing her own fruit and vegetables and volunteering.
I love going for site visits as there is always a great positive atmosphere with lots of banter. Any queries I have are dealt with professionally and I rely on the teams’ experience and expertise to assist with any of the design detailing
Judy Maundrell
Finance Manager
Judy is an integral part of the company and has a keen eye for what she does. Judy lives local to where Whiteacre Homes operate and will pop in to see the site at all stages of the build. She is the life and soul of the party and will share a joke or two.
Favourite Project?
“Tayberry & Mulberry House at Knowle Wood Road, Dorridge would have to be my favourite, it was just simply stunning”
Interest & Hobbies
G&T, if that is classed as a hobby!
I love working with Chris and the family. We have fond memories and many more to come, I am sure
